Marotte Gîtes

Enjoy you a holiday on a Provencal wine estate

Domaine de Marotte is located – just outside Carpentras – at the foot of the Mont Ventoux. This is where we – Daan and Elvire van Dijkman – have been making honest, distinctive wines that excel in quality since 1998. Our vineyards – the oldest of which dates from 1902 – consist of 18 hectares of red and 10 hectares of white wine grapes. We feel privileged to be able to live here. This is why we are happy to offer you the opportunity to spend your holidays in one of our Gîtes, so that you too can enjoy all the beauty of Provence.

Our gîtes

In the middle of our domaine, surrounded by vineyards, stands a big farmhouse that dates from the end of the 16th century. This building used to serve as a shelter for monks from the neighborhood in times of unrest. Here we have – while retaining as many authentic elements as possible – made 2 spacious 6-person holiday homes, Le Mas & Le Grand Gîte plus an apartment for 2 people, Le Petit Gîte. The living environment is very pleasant due to the thick walls of the building.

These gîtes decorated in Provencal style each have their own terrace. Le Mas has two terraces, one with a great view of Mont Ventoux and one where you sit out of the wind when the wind blows. The courtyard is in front of Le Mas. This courtyard offers excellent protection against the Mistral (the strong Provencal wind). Le Grand Gîte also has its own terrace. And a few steps away from the gîtes is a beautiful – if desired, heated – shared swimming pool of 14 x 7 meters. There is a pool house next to the swimming pool with a private fridge for each gite and a place to store things. There are several sun and shade terraces with a lot of privacy. In the middle of our vineyards – 300 meters from the company buildings – is Le Mazet, a romantic 2-person holiday home. Are you looking for a peacefull place and fantastic views then this is a perfect location. That Le Mazet has the house number 1001 is of course no coincidence. Surroundings

Carpentras is 1.5 km from Domaine de Marotte. An authentic Provencal town that is famous for its many markets, age-old buildings and pleasant terraces. But if you prefer to go a bit higher up, the top of the top of the Mont Ventoux is only a 40-minute drive away. Avignon is also conveniently close by with 25 minutes by car. Here you can, for example, visit the famous Palais des Papes, Le Pont d’Avignon or one of the many special shops. Of course, you can also enjoy typical Provencal dishes in restaurants that honor the regional cuisine. If you like to go antique hunting, there is a lot to experience in the antique village of Isle sur la Sorgue. And if you want to see where Vincent van Gogh has made his most famous paintings, then head for Arles and Saint-Rémy-de-Provence. But whatever you choose, one thing is certain: there is so much to experience in Provence that one vacation is probably not enough.
